Pregnancy, week by week and without missing deadlines
Meceluna tells you which week you are in and what is worth having done: booking appointments, telling work, checking benefits, packing the hospital bag or signing up for a nursery. It gives no medical advice. That is what your midwife is for.
It is on the App Store for iPhone, free. Plus is optional.

How it works in Meceluna
- At the start, enter the due date.
- On Home you see the week, the days left and the next steps. Tap one to see what to do and its link.
- In Agenda are the appointments, the hospital bag and the birth plan.

What comes next
The Home screen shows the week, the days left and the next steps: for example, telling work, the week 20 ultrasound or applying for the baby cheque (cheque bebé). Each step carries its date and, when it depends on an agency, the link to its website. With twins or triplets the deadlines come earlier.
Appointments and questions for the visit
Appointments have an alert and can be moved to the iPhone Calendar. In each one you can note what you want to ask and have it at hand when you walk in.
If you do not know what to ask, the app suggests the most common questions for each trimester and for each type of appointment, such as the ultrasound or the anesthesia consultation.
Hospital bag and shopping
The hospital bag is a list you tick off, shared with your partner. The baby shopping list is in its own section, with prices from several stores.
The starting list changes with the time of year of the birth, with warm clothes in winter and light ones in summer, and if the hospital is private it adds the insurance card and its authorisation.
The last weeks
From week 28 the kick counter appears, and from week 36, the contraction counter. The birth plan follows the Ministry of Health (Ministerio de Sanidad) template and is saved as a PDF to carry printed or on your mobile.
Meceluna has the health centres and hospitals of each region, public and private, so you can choose yours and have directions at hand.
When the baby is born
With “They're born”, Home switches to feeds, nappies and sleep, and the next steps change to the birth paperwork, such as birth registration (Registro Civil) or leave.
