How it works in Meceluna

For the person giving

The page shows the available gifts, those already gifted and what is most needed, which you mark. It can be searched and sorted by price. When reserving, each person chooses whether to hand it over or ship it; if shipping, they see your address at that moment. Afterwards they can mark that they have already bought it or cancel the reservation.

Gifts from several people

A gift can be a pot: you set how much it costs, for example the pushchair, and each relative contributes what they want. The page shows what has been collected and how many have contributed. How to get the money to you is something you write and only the person contributing sees it. Meceluna neither collects nor holds that money.

For what has no specific model, such as clothes for 3 to 6 months, there is the “Idea”: with no store or link.

In the app

Each reservation reaches the app with the name and message of the giver, and that gift moves to “Gift” on your list, with an alert for new ones. A heart marks whom you have already thanked. If you share the app with your partner, you both manage the same list.

You can also manage it from a computer, at meceluna.com/mi-lista, signing in with your Apple or Google account. The account is optional and only serves this. There you see the reservations and can download them as CSV. If you have an account, we notify you by email of each new reservation. The person who reserves receives their reservation by email, with a link to change it, and a single reminder per week if they have not marked that they already bought it.

If a gift is from the catalogue, the link goes to the cheapest store when you publish. Beforehand, with “Check prices”, the app looks again at the price of what you have with a link.

Privacy

The page carries no analytics and does not appear in search engines. When you unpublish it, everything is deleted from the server, including reservations. The privacy page explains it.

From the person who reserves we store their name, email and message, only to send them their reservation and so you can thank them. The email is seen by the family and no one else.

What it does not do

It does not send the gifts or collect the contributions. The reservation is valid as soon as it is made. The only emails it sends are those for reservations, with no ads.

Which app can I use to make a free birth registry in Spain?

Meceluna, for iPhone. You publish the baby list on a meceluna.com page and family and friends reserve gifts without creating an account. It is free and has no ads.

Can they reserve gifts without signing up?

Yes, without creating an account. Whoever opens the link enters their name, their email and, if they want, a message. The reservation is valid immediately and no one else can reserve that gift. They get an email with their reservation and a link to change or cancel it.

Can an expensive item, like the pushchair, be gifted by several people?

Yes, with a pot. You set how much is needed and each person contributes what they want; the page shows how much has been collected. The money does not go through Meceluna: whoever contributes sees how to get it to you, for example a Bizum.

Can gifts from any store be added?

Yes. From Safari or a store's app, with Share and then Meceluna, the product is saved with its name, photo and price. The Meceluna catalogue also works, with the price at several Spanish stores.

Who sees the list and our address?

Whoever has the link. The page does not appear in search engines and the link cannot be guessed. The address is seen only by the person who reserves and chooses to ship it. In the app you see who reserved each gift; others only see that it is already reserved.
